Tablet Verification Test for AutoCAD 12,13,14

SETUP FOR VERIFICATION TEST

1. Open a new drawing

**This drawing must not have any preset settings such as scale**

2. Initiate Limits command: Limits
   Lower Left:   0,0
   Upper Right: Size of Tablet (eg. 9,6; 12,12; 48,36)

3. Initiate Zoom Command:  Zoom
   Zoom All

4. Initiate Tablet Command: Tablet
   Choose: CFG
   Enter the number of tablet menus desired (0-4) <0>: 0
   Do you want to respecify the Screen Pointing area? Yes
   Digitize lower left corner of Screen Pointing area: 
  
   (pick lower left corner of digitizer.)
  
   Digitize upper right corner of Screen Pointing area:

   (pick upper right corner of digitizer.)

**R13 Win & R14 Win
  Do you want to respecify the Floating Screen area? NO

5. Initiate the Tablet Command:
   Choose:  CAL
   Digitize Point #1: (pick the lower left corner of tablet)
   Enter Coordinates for point #1: 0,0


  Digitize Point #2: (pick the upper right corner of tablet)
  Enter Coordinates for point #2: Size of tablet
  (eg.  12,12 or 36,24 or 48,36 or 60,48)

6. Hit Enter when asked for the 3rd point

*FIRST TEST

1. Draw a diagonal line by picking the lower left hand corner of the tablet then the upper right hand corner of the tablet

2. Type ID at the Command prompt
   a.) at point: type END(this will initiate the end osnap)
   b.) pick the lower left hand end of the line
   c.) it should return coordinates close to 0,0

3. Type ID at the Command prompt
   a.) at point: type END(this will initiate the end osnap)
   b.) pick the lower left hand end of the line
   c.) it should return coordinates close to the size
       of the tablet (eg. 9,6; 12,12; 48,36)

**SECOND TEST

1. On a piece of paper draw 2 lines
   (1) 6 inch vertical line
   (1) 6 inch horizontal line

2. Secure paper on the tablet

3. Trace these 2 line into AutoCAD using the Line command

4. Type LIST at the Command prompt:
   a.) pick both lines when prompted for the objects

5. After you have picked both lines and have it enter switch to your TEXT screen:
  
   Use F1 if in DOS based AutoCAD
   Use F2 if in Windows based AutoCAD

6. It will list the length of the 2 lines in the text screen
   a.) check to make sure that the length are close to 6 inches


If your tablet passes these two accuracy tests, your tablet is functioning properly.  The tablet only send x & y data when the pick button is pressed and released. It doesn't determine what AutoCAD will do with these coordinates.  If you are having a further calibration issues please contact Autodesk for further instructions.
