AutoCAD: Tablet Command: Configure for Zero Menu Areas.
(For All Versions of AutoCAD, DOS & Windows)

These instructions are used when an AutoCAD template will NOT be used. The area defined will equal the size of the screen. This will be a working area only. For Digitizing in a drawing at a specific scale the "TABLET, CAL" Command (for Calibration) would be used.

I. For AutoCAD for Windows Versions: 13,14,2000,ACAD/LT95 and ACAD/LT97

The Digitizer should be working on the desktop, moving the arrow, utilizing the current version of the CalComp Windows 95/98/NT driver and moving the crosshairs in your version of AutoCAD before attempting to do the Tablet Command.

A. Tablet Command: Configuring Zero Menu Areas

1. Initiate by typing 'TABLET' at the command prompt:
You will see: 'Tablet Command: ON/OFF/CAL/CFG'

a. Type in "CFG"

b. At the Command Prompt:
"Enter the number of tablet menus desired (0-4) <0:"

Type in "0" (Zero) or hit enter if <0 is the default.

c. At the Command Prompt:
"Do you want to respecify the Fixed Screen Pointing area? <N"

   Type in "YES"

d. At the Command Prompt:
"Digitize lower left corner of Fixed Screen Pointing area:

(pick lower left corner of the area of the digitizer you wish
to use as your screen pointing area.)

e. At the Command Prompt:
"Digitize upper right corner of Fixed Screen Pointing area:

(pick upper right corner of the area of the digitizer you wish
to use as your screen pointing area.)

f. At the Command Prompt:
"Do you want to specify the Floating Screen pointing area? <N"

   Type in "NO".

You have now finished Tablet Configuration to define the area of the digitizer you wish to use as the "Screen Pointing Area". You can follow this process at any time you wish to change the size of the "Screen Pointing Area".

II. For AutoCAD for Windows Version 12:

The Digitizer should be working on the desktop, moving the arrow, utilizing the current version of the CalComp Windows 95/NT driver.

In AutoCAD 12, after configuring for the digitizer and the mole area is defined at a slightly smaller size than the intended 'Screen Pointing Area'.

The crosshairs of AutoCAD 12 Win are moving before attempting to do the Tablet Command.

You have now finished Tablet Configuration to define the area of the digitizer you wish to use as the "Screen Pointing Area". You can follow this process at any time you wish to change the size of the "Screen Pointing Area". Note: With AutoCAD 12 for Windows you must go through the Configure AutoCAD for the Digitizer, with Mole area, each time, before changing the "Screen Pointing Area" with the Tablet Command.

III. For AutoCAD for DOS (all version):

The Digitizer should be recognized in the version of AutoCAD that is being used.

The crosshairs are being moved by the Digitizer Mouse, before attempting to do the Tablet Command.
